Becoming
Becoming examines character design from a scientific point of view by imagining the hypothetical creation of parahumans or animalhuman hybrids. These chimeric experimentations in which human cells are injected into animal embryos establish a new race of beings. Computer generated images present these characters hyper-realistically as photographs depicting the story of Ruru, a kangaroo-human girl in the infant, toddler, and adolescent stages. By visualizing this scientific experimentation, Becoming questions the ethical and legal issues of genetic engineering research.
